Joestu Aquarium Umigatari

The aquarium features approximately 300 species of aquatic life, with a focus on creatures native to the Sea of Japan. We are home to more than 100 Magellanic penguins, making our collection the largest of its kind in Japan. Every visit offers new discoveries and stories to explore.

Access

If coming from the Myoko area, take the Myoko Haneuma Line from Myoko-Kogen Station to Naoetsu Station. Joetsu Aquarium “Umigatari” is a 15-minute walk from Naoetsu Station.

It is recommended that you use a taxi. Approx. 5 minutes to Joetsu Aquarium “Umigatari” from the North Gate of Naoetsu Station.
